Edgecam at Morris Madness Open House on March 14-15 in Illinois

Edgecam at Morris Madness Open House on March 14-15 in Illinois Valued for its ability to program any machine tool, the innovative Edgecam computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) solution will be exhibited March 14-15 at the sixth annual Morris Midwest Open House & Technology Show, titled “Morris Madness,” in Roselle, Ill.

Hosted at the Morris Midwest Technical Center, the event will feature live cutting demos on roughly 30 CNC machines, including lathes, Swiss-style lathes, horizontal machining centers, vertical machining centers, and multifunction machines.

Edgecam Waveform technology will be demonstrated on an Okuma HJ400 2-axis lathe, and Waveform milling tombstone machining will be featured on an Okuma MA600HII machining center.

Product specialists and representatives from more than 20 leading technology suppliers will be in attendance and available both days to discuss latest advancements.

Among Edgecam’s time-saving capabilities is the Waveform roughing strategy, a high-speed machining cycle that is available for milling and turning and delivers consistent tool-engagement with the material, thereby maintaining constant tool-cutting load. By generating smooth toolpath to avoid sharp changes in direction, Edgecam Waveform maintains machine-tool velocity while decreasing cycle time and increasing tool life.
