Twenty-five companies were represented at a successful Edgecam lunch-n-learn meeting recently hosted by Edgecam reseller Manufacturing Technologies Group, Inc., at the Okuma Chicago Tech Center in Roselle, Ill.
Titled “Best Practices for Manufacturing,” the event was designed to inform and educate existing and prospective Edgecam users about the features and upgrades available within the latest version of the software.
Edgecam’s Waveform milling and turning technologies were highlighted at the event, at which Sandvik tooling was used in conjunction with the Waveform strategy on Okuma machine tools to reduce cycle time by 300 percent.
“Participants were excited to see how leaders in CNC software, tooling, and machining technologies are able to use their combined expertize to produce significant, time-saving results,” said Jim Jackson, owner of Manufacturing Technolgies Group, Inc.
The Edgecam Waveform roughing strategy is a high-speed machining cycle that delivers consistent tool-engagement with the material, thereby maintaining constant tool-cutting load. By generating smooth toolpath to avoid sharp changes in direction, Edgecam Waveform maintains machine-tool velocity while decreasing cycle time and increasing tool life, and is standard on lathe and milling modules.
About Edgecam
Edgecam is market-leading CAD/CAM software for CNC programming. With unparalleled ease of use and intelligent toolpath generation, it’s the only CAD/CAM system you’ll need for 3D milling, mill-turn machining, and multi-axis machining. T
