Edgecam and WorkNC on show Nov. 8-9 in Michigan

Edgecam and WorkNC on show Nov. 8-9 in Michigan The Edgecam and WorkNC computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) solutions, by Vero Software, will be exhibited Nov. 8-9 at a production machining exposition hosted by Single Source Technologies (SST) at its Production Machining Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The “Setting Your Sights on the Processes and New Technologies for Production Machining and Automation” event is designed to help attendees improve overall plant efficiency, and will offer a series of educational presentations that delve into specific subjects.

Topics covered will include “Effective Fixturing that Leads to Automation,” “Increase Your Spindle Utilization Through Automation,” “Increasing Productivity with the New Technologies in Makino nx HMCs,” “Transforming Your Business Through loT and Makino’s ProNetConneX,” and “The DA300: Makino’s New 5-Axis Technology with Automation.” Daily lunch will be provided, and afternoon barbecues and happy hour events will offer additional opportunities to network with industry peers and experts.

In addition to several new and improved features for milling, turning, simulation and wire EDM, Edgecam 2017 R2 introduces a new turning cycle that includes B-axis movements for machining on a turning center.

This new feature allows greater accessibility for machining complex profiles because it dynamically positions the insert. As the tool holder is gouge-protected, programmers have additional control over the toolpath by deploying over-ride angles. This new cycle can be used with all types of turning tools, and for both roughing and finishing operations.
WorkNC’s new Parallel Finishing toolpath makes use of innovative Advanced Toolform technology, which offers efficient high-feed cutter management. Toolpath calculations are based on the real shape of the cutter, which ensures optimal surface quality and machining times reduced by up to 80 percent.
