Radan 2018 R1 Receives Positive Reception at FABTECH 2017

Radan 2018 R1 Receives Positive Reception at FABTECH 2017 Radan 2018 R1, the latest release of the powerful Radan sheet-metal solution by Vero Software, received a positive reception Nov. 6-9, when the solution made its U.S. debut at FABTECH 2017, hosted at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

“FABTECH provided an ideal opportunity to debut Radan 2018 R1 because we were able to see firsthand the excitement of existing and potential customers who stand to benefit from these latest developments,” said Radan General Manager, Americas, Doug Wood. “The show was also a chance to meet with customers and future users to better understand the challenges they face and how we can continue to provide the best possible services.”

In addition to the unveiling of Radan 2018 R1, FABTECH 2017 marked the U.S. debut of Rabot, a robot manufactured with Radan and designed to showcase features included within the latest software release. Also on display and demonstrated at the FABTECH Radan booth was a ROMER arm produced by Vero Software parent company Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.

Radan 2018 R1 is a major step forward with technology geared to help sheet-metal manufacturers implement Industry 4.0 smart factories, and is the first of two 2018 releases in step with plans to begin issuing two new versions per year.

The new release includes a number of items of new and enhanced functionality that focus specifically on the “engineering of parts” processes. Developers are now working on separating Radan into two distinct aspects: traditionally creating NC code to drive CNC machines, and “engineering of parts.”
