Milling

Milling - a manufacturing operation, performed on a milling machine (tool, lathe) which involves cutting a metal billet with a special rotating tool (mill, cutter). The billet is moving in a progressive way.  The machines used are milling machines and multifunctional machining centers. Various surfaces and faces may be milled, thread may be cut, various geometries created like turbines, bladed discs, grooves and pockets. Milling process ensures accurate part sizing and a required surface finish.
